Union gives University 14 ways to prevent job cuts
On July 7th, Union representatives made a presentation to the University, giving them alternatives to job cuts.
While we believe that it is possible for the University to stop these cuts, we have also provided the University with 14 options to reduce the impact on members, if there are areas where they can find no other option.
Our Local hopes that ultimately, there will be no job cuts.
Other universities in the region, like Wilfrid Laurier, have been able to preserve their class sizes and keep part-time teachers. We know that the University of Guelph can do the same.
CUPE knows that our members are integral to providing the quality of education that U of G students deserve.
We will continue to update you, our members and the community as further developments occur.
In the meantime, we urge you to visit SaveSessionalJobs.com to send a message to the University administration calling on them to stop these cuts.
